As with all diets, there are some things that will lead to your failure when on the HCG diet. Don’t worry, it’s to be expected that you have difficulty with the diet, which is why there is a very specific diet protocol that tells you exactly what to do. However, no matter how closely you follow the HCG diet, it’s important that you know what it is that makes you fail on your diet – as well as how to avoid them:
- Digestive Distress – One thing that you can always expect when trying any kind of diet is that your digestive system will have to adjust to the changes in your diet. However, this diet is going to call for a whole lot of liquids and very little food, so don’t be surprised if you get diarrhea for the first week. Also, once your body is accustomed to consuming all the nutrients from the food, you may find that you are constipated or you use the bathroom once every couple of days. Don’t freak out, as this is normal and nothing to be too worried about.
- Cravings and Hunger Pangs – This is definitely the most common cause of failure when on the HCG diet. The truth is that the HCG diet protocols allow you to eat less than 40 different foods, meaning that you don’t really get to eat everything that you want to. You will probably find that you start craving a certain food that is not on the list of permitted foods, and these cravings can be hard to ignore. The hunger pangs will also be very prominent, but you have to find ways to ignore them. If you can distract yourself, use tea to help suppress your hunger, and drink lots of water, you can avoid giving in to the hunger pangs and cravings.
- Incorrect Food Choices – There are so many foods that you can’t eat while dieting, and the HCG diet is stricter than most. You really only have a limited number of foods, and choosing the wrong foods will mean that you are getting more calories than you should – leading to less effective weight loss. Make sure to follow the diet guide exactly, and only use the foods that you are permitted to eat. If you can do this, you will ensure that your weight loss is as effective as possible.
- Inconsistency – You have to be faithful with the HCG diet, and it’s not one of these “on again, off again” diets that you can try. There are no “cheat days” where you can eat whatever you want, and you don’t want to just quit the diet halfway through. You have to be consistent with the diet, taking the drops regularly in order to ensure that you are getting enough of the HCG hormone that will get you through the diet thinner and with less fat in your body than before.
